- Refer to engineers for calculations.
- Obtain additional information and data from appropriate personnel and other sources.
- Create functional and pictorial images of structures, including trusses, frames and or floors.
- Refer design requirements outside software limitations to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Use computer programs to estimate components
- Transfer fixed design details to layout data in line with software requirements.
- Identify truss, frame or floor type and select timber type and species in line with material suitability and availability.
- Define design structure using spacing of components, including trusses, frames and or floors in line with industry standards.
- Fix component sizes to clarify and firm design options.
- Select layouts, spacing and sizing of individual structural members progressively in line with software requirements.
- Produce design details in line with software and order requirements.
- Select design options based on feasibility, ease of erection, cost, material availability, customer preference and site requirements.
- Review design details and modify without compromising truss, frame or structure strength.
- Prepare quotation
